I couldn't get hold of an 060 from Chucky, so ended up going with this seller - I've read a few people have had genuine ones from him, has anyone else bought from this seller? I've seen Chris's article (with tonnes of photos) but I guess I won't know until I test it?

You can't tell until there are tested anymore. I've brought 10 from sellers in the past, all been good, then brought 20 and only 2 good kinda thing. It really depending on if you can hit on a good batch or not of them somewhere.

I bought one from that seller, and it was legit. Runs 95 MHz stable and cool in my Falcon.

It amazes me people would even think to counterfeit such a thing. Even at £100 a time the markets so small is it worth it?
I vaguely recall people pulling CPUs from old Apple accelerator cards and using them, because they was cheaper and loads about, but I can't remember which CPU it was?

Speaking of this page, @exxos, what leads you to believe that one of those that is labelled real is actually fake? That one looks precisely like the one I got off the seller referenced at the beginning of this thread (different QQ code is all), and the one I got is definitely real.

@derkom everyone used to think you could tell a real v6 by the printed numbers on them, but after bulk buying them for years, you simply can't . China take *every* 060 CPU , be it rev 1,rev 6, and reprint the whole lot with the numbers which people look for being 060 mask numbers.
So if the text doesn't look right, wrong font, wrong colour, wrong location etc then its been reprinted. No way to tell what they are in that respect. I even so this on my page . some are printed looking pretty legit.
If they don't look reprinted, then that's as good as you can get. But most sellers use stock images and even blur out the numbers so you can't read them. In which case its likely a scam seller.
I stopped selling the CPUs as got sick of the hassle of deputes and returns, it just wasn't profitable to bother anymore. I had to keep upping the CPU prices to cover the losses and it just got to much in the end.
There may well be good sellers and good stocks, I found some. But like I said earlier, I could buy some cpus all genuine regardless of text printed, then the next buy, all fake.
If the guy on evilbay is shipping genuine ones then great, but I wouldn't go bulk buying 100 of them as you just don't know at what point the stock goes bad.
