DO NOT USE DEVICES WHERE THE IP CHANGES CONSTANTLY!
At this time it is unfortunately not possible to white list users when your IP changes constantly.
You may inadvertently get banned because a previous attack may have used the IP you are now on.
So I suggest people only use fixed IP address devices until I can think of a solution for this problem!

FDC cookie

Post by exxos »

Does anyone know how to set the FDC cookie to enable HD format option in GEM ? There's a hint there was a FDC.PRG to do it but Google doesn't find much at all relating to it :(

Search for HDCOOKIE.PRG + ATARI via Google. Documentation for the _FDC content can be found here: http://toshyp.atari.org/en/003007.html

Thanks - I also found a few other PRGs on the Floppy Shop 5592 disk that allows me to play around with other cookies :)

Their version is HD_FDC.PRG - https://www.planetemu.net/rom/atari-st- ... floppyshop

They create the _FDC cookie and as "_" is used for OS cookies, the OS uses this and adds the HD option in the format dialog, if the _FDC content is set properly. Check with a debugger/monitor program, if necessary ...

@Icky Tried his flashy board with the same register patches and it does not work for him either, so I guess the good news is my board seems to be working correctly.

So it seems just accessing that register is just not enough for some reason :( it could be that TOS206 is at some point checking for a STE machine before it starts checking other things

EDIT:
I tried scoping out that register to see if it was even being accessed, and it does not look like it , so anyone's guess to why this doesn't work then..
