Hello
I would like to get CPU relocator for a Atari. There are plenty of them for a Amiga, but most of them are not suitable for Atari and none of them is "best possible".
Atari's CPU is (at least mine) is located vertically to motherboard, when Amiga's CPUs are located horizontally.
Atari STfm would require something like this:
Do you know relocator like this?

@utri007 - Can you post a picture of your CPU location i.e. what revision board do you have and why are you looking to relocate the 68K DIP.

The kipper relocator is like that but aren’t there 10 different Atari layouts

indicates how much hurting you shall receive."

Here you are. CPU is in socket, thing is that with socket there is not enough room under the keyboard to Lightning IDE and Cloudy TOS boards.Icky wrote: 30 Dec 2019 20:47 @utri007 - Can you post a picture of your CPU location i.e. what revision board do you have and why are you looking to relocate the 68K DIP.

Re: CPU relocator for a Atari?
@utri007 - this could be possible but am going to caveat this, as by adding this into the mix with the Lightning and Cloudy on a 30+ year old computer may work but you may also find yourself with issues where the boards combined with an extender may introduce other problems. For example the extender board would need to be supported otherwise the weight of the add-ons would put a strain on it. In addition the board would need to be designed to allow the add-on boards to fit around the other components of your revision of the STFM.

Those might be a problems, but as said these has been used with Amiga for ages and there hasn't been any major problems. Re-locator would lift CPU and other components up, so other components would fit just fine.

Here is a 68000 CPU relocator. It has two PCBs and you use a ribbon cable between them.

It is nice, but I would need to use it upside. Cable is towards front of Atari.TimNaber wrote: 31 Dec 2019 15:15 Here is a 68000 CPU relocator. It has two PCBs and you use a ribbon cable between them.
