exxos PSU 110V Red Problems

Post by speedswan »

Hello,

I installed one of these in my UK 520 STE in the US and it appeared to work.

I left it running for a few minutes and it blew its fuse.

I replaced the fuse and it would sort of boot but would come up with a load of bombs - all sort of corrupted and then it would power off after a while.

I connected the ST's 5V, GND and 12V to my bench power supply (a standard 200W arcade power supply) and the machine works fine - I've left it soaking for a couple of hours with no problem.

Please help!

Thanks

Mark

You probably have a bad contact on the ST connector. Normally if you move it you can cause the fuse to blow manually as well.

Also the reset circuits are going bad on most machines due to bad caps. So if pressing reset switch solves bombs on power up then you have that issue as well. Its been mentioned a few times in other posts.
