1772 floppy chips appearing in stock.

Post by exxos »

I have been buying the 1772 chips in bulk lately ( which is costing a fortune!) but the prices of these are going insane lately ( like other things).

The VL1772 will run perfectly well at 8MHz, and will run perfectly well with my own HD floppy kit. Though these chips will not sustain 16MHz for more than about half an hour. With my floppy kit switching back to 8MHz, this generally is not a problem.

The WD1772 will generally sustain 16Mhz for a few hours, but obviously I cannot check every single one for this amount of time. These are generally more reliable than the VL chips and overclock better, but of course the price is a lot higher.

All the chips are tested & inspected by our highly qualified inspection team.

I have a Siamese who can randomly press keys and knock a mouse about if that would help?

He's also very good at guarding any open boxes you may have!

Sounds like you have that requirement covered then. :D

Ours has taken to sitting in the cupboard where the breakfast cereals are kept and miaowing loudly when we open the door for breakfast.

Maybe he's guarding it from the kids, the other two cats & our Malamute...who knows?
