I've started a 530 build and have the CPLD's solder on and the regulator. Does anyone remember where the raspberry pi Xilinx programming software is. Thanks Paul :)

Another coincidence is that I too am building a TF530

The raspberry pi/Xilinx info is here, it's quite straight forward to install onto a pi.

Ya, that's a fine name ya have. Like the way it sounds. :) :) :) Yes, I've got the FPGAs and 3.3v regulator soldered on but haven't programmed them yet Have to build the software on the pi and have been busy playing with the 1.04/2.06/IDE board for the ST/MEGA. Guess I'll have to get busyon the 530's. :)

I registered as PaulJ, but it said Username was taken, so I did a search and blimey, it's only someone that is doing the same build at the same time :D

I have pretty much purchased everything from Aliexpress, so my components are arriving in dribs and drabs.
Hopefully everything will be here by this time next weekend, so I can get it installed and programmed.
It all seems straight forward enough to do, having watched his video on programming it. It does help to watch.

Thanks for TF's link. I had gotten the name from his video and downloaded the source. Haven't built it yet. I have all the parts but once waylaid its hard to get back on track. I do need a 68882 since it appears your have a better chance of success if its in circuit it proveides proper bus loading. Anyway that's the belief. I'll be following your progress!!

Well programming the CPLD's was a breeze, mostly due to the instructions being simple to follow.
I did rename the rather long files to ram.jed and bus.jed though to save time.
Just hooked up the card to a 5v supply and everything went as planned.

Well the final components came today, so I mounted them, installed and...


... Black Screen :(

Tomorrow I will go over it with a scope, see what's happening (or isn't).

I'm not ruling out a faulty component here, the soldering all seems spot on.

There is a bridge on bus cpld, can You see it?

Woe is me.
I retired to bed last night and my mind was busy thinking what could be the issue, so I checked the internets and there was a forum post on another forum where a guy had the same issue and he solved it by flashing RC2 firmware to the CPLD's. Armed with this, I slept well.

This morning I downloaded and flashed the RC2 firmware and it booted up to the kickstart screen. Wonderful!
I powered down, installed my CF card and nothing, black screen again.
Took out the CF card and black screen. Replaced my original CPU and it boots to the kickstart screen, so the Amiga seems fine.

Anyone have any ideas as to what I should look at first?

Oh, this is the system:
Amiga 500 Rev 5 512k Ram.
3.1.4 Rom
No Floppy or expansions connected.
