Just got a new SH204 minus the hard drive
I just got my SH204 minus the hard drive, what can I use in it to replace the MFM drive , Brad tells me it will handle SCSI-1 as I have all of the cables and cards I am supposed to get something compatible by tomorrow, I have some 2 Gig SCSI drives but I would have to take them out of their enclosure. I hear the SH204 is quite adaptable. Thanks for all help. Russ

Re: Just got a new SH204 minus the hard drive
SH204 has an Adaptec ST-506/412 compatible HDD controller inside, and can be used only with such disks. It can be either 5,25" or 3,5" and MFM or RLL compatible. SCSI is something completely different.

Sorry, I was wrong, SH204 was using a SCSI host adapter (ACSI - SCSI "converter"), and a SCSI to ST-506 hard disk converter... newer SH's and MegaFiles were using ACSI - ST-506 type controllers. If you unplug the converter, you potentially could be successful in connecting a regular SCSI disk.
