One other small issue with the mega 4 power supply is the mounting screws have a larger head. This screw can not be used near the fuse because the screw head hits the fuse holder base and forces the screw to thread at an angle. The 1040 power supply bracket did not have these issues. The holes aligned and the screws had a smaller diameter head. I did use a 1040 screw in the hole next to the fuse holder which allowed it to thread correctly. The thread are the same.


The supply runs extremely cool compared to the Atari supply, the transformer is only slightly warm to the touch after a two hour run. It also caused a improvement in the video. There is a noticeable absence of video artifacts. I don't know if the metal shield fit since I have this machine apart most of the time and the shield is more trouble than it's worth.
This supply would be perfect for Icky since it only has one electrolitic cap.
