So, I finally got going on this today. Really just soldering in sockets and working out what else I need to order socket wise. Should have all the resistors etc in my parts bag that turned up a couple of days ago.
Here's where I'm at as of today:
Off shopping for PLCC and DIL/DIP sockets now, and once I get those and any last parts I need, I can start applying the fixes already found to get it up and running.

RJ, just a suggestion, I wouldn't populate the chips until everything is in place. In that way you don't expose all the chips to ESD while your working on the board. Here in RI when it gets cold the humidity gets low and ESD is always an issue. :mrgreen: :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

Finally finished recovering the parts from my donor board:
And all of the remaining/missing sockets are ordered and on their way, so I guess now it's time to dig out the BOM and start soldering in the other components.
