Hi there - Thomas is my name, i currently live in Germany in North Rhein Westfalia not too far from Cologne.
As a child, while living in the grand city of Jerusalem, Israel, i started with an Atari 1040 STFM which had a XT Board fitted (PC Speed).
It was sold when we moved to Ontario, Canada in 1986. After moving around a bit - around the year 2000 - i bought me a small collection of Ataris - 1040 STFM, 1040 STF, 1 Mega ST, 2 Megafiles, a color and bw atari monitor. Before moving again a few years later the lot got sold again - this time to a music producer who drove almost 500km just to pick the stuff up. i'm glad they got to the right hands. that was around 2002.
Now, just recently i got me an Atari 1040 STE which i upgraded to 4MB. There are a few mods i'd like to fit the machine, but time will tell when. I'm in no hurry. Oh and i got myself an Atari 2600 with a few cartridges too - both were a bargain.
Occupationally i'm a system and networks administrator - enjoy electronics and if possible, also repair them if needed.
yeah, that's it for now. If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask :)

DO NOT USE MOBILE / CGNAT DEVICES WHERE THE IP CHANGES CONSTANTLY!
At this time, it is unfortunately not possible to whitelist users when your IP changes constantly.
You may inadvertently get banned because a previous attack may have used the IP you are now on.
So I suggest people only use fixed IP address devices until I can think of a solution for this problem!

Welcome Thomas :)
Thanks for your into. Always good to know a little about people who visit here.
:welcomewave:
My first Atari was the 2600, I only had 4 games I think, Pole position, centipede, phoenix , space invaders. It got me into Atari stuff, so can't have been all that bad :) What were your favorite games ?

Thanks!
Oh my favorites games? that's a good one... on the ST i loved playing Space Invaders, Barbarian, Turrican, Stunts and Outrun. Those were among my favorites. there were a few more, but alas i don't remember their names.
When i went to school, i had piano lessons, at that time i used the Atari with a Kawai keyboard and a midi sequencer to practice which really was fun back then.

And another german, welcome :) Although I'm not a musician myself, I really found using the Atari as a sequencer fascinating. I recently learned that there are still musicians using Ataris, not only because they are retro fans, but because they are really convinced of their setup.
I recently heard a couple of tracks (on youtube), where someone combined real percussions with chiptunes, and I thought thats sounded awesome... would really love to hear more of that.
