Will a TOS104 / TOS102 STFM KIT [0131] fit next to a 4,700 AXIAL CAP REPLACEMENT KIT [0090]?

Post by sandord »

I'm thinking of buying these kits:

- TOS104 / TOS102 STFM KIT [0131]
- 4,700 AXIAL CAP REPLACEMENT KIT [0090]

but I'm worried they may not fit toghether. The board seems to hang a little over the socket and the axial cap replacement kit that I have sitting in my ST is already really close to a ROM chip.

Has anyone installed these two together successfully?

It should fit (but I haven't tried it) but with that TOS board, you probably don't need the cap-board anyway.. or if some caps are in the way, just remove a row.

I haven't done those two specifically, but I've switched out the original cap for a monster one (much larger, think it was a 4700uf 50V) and that fits with the exxos TOS board. It leans against it, and I've skewed it a bit. You could always do the same with the individual caps on the cap-board, just fit the TOS board first.

The cap-board is already in, so I'm just going to order the tos board and see what hapens. I guess I could always move the cap-board a bit, using wire.
