ALPHA "to fix list"

Post by exxos »

Thought I would start a new topic, so any issues found by people can be added here...(Moderators can edit this list directly )

MIDI connectors not fitting on front 2 pins - this is the type of socket supplied, there are 2 versions of the socket, one with closer pins which fits the layout. (will add both variation of holes in the next revision)

Falcon RAM card not fitting with my RAM cards... Not really a issue as such, but the MMU height prevents it fitting fully. Its best to use the original falcon card. Ultimately there will be no RAM card at all.

Reset switch has no lugs.. Part of the rushed design unfortunately.. We'll fix that in the next revision.

Keyboard connector overhanging one pin.. https://www.exxosforum.co.uk/forum/viewt ... 1146#p9332 , have already fix that in the schematics.

Most likely all connector alignments will not be 100% on this board...PSU holes are no where near.. Also missing mounting holes, floppy holes etc etc. Such items are missing deliberately to save working on the board for another year before release.

Had a closer look at the MIDI connectors on the original STFM and they match the ones I provided with the wider front pins. Looks like there are a few variations around. Would it be possible when re-designing to provide holes for both variations of front pins to allow the different types to be fitted?

Yeah, I can add 2 holes.. probably a good idea actually.

We will need to allow the case mounting holes and floppy disk mounting points if this is to fit into an existing case.

It may be late and I have been soldering for 5 hours straight but is it me or is the R920 on the board just connected to itself.

R915 is very close to the crystal. I am going to lean it on it side and put in a socket for the crystal to step it above the resistor wire.

hmm, I can't check until I get home later, where is it on the board ?

Never noticed that one :( I would suggest putting the osc in a socket... There will be a "osc update" at some point.

This resistor is in the reset circuit prior to the NE555 IC4. I can confirm that the resistor pads are joined on the back of the board.

Bizzare.. .

Though I did swap stuff about a bit because of adding the pads for the reset switch.. I can't access those files until I get home :(

I suspect what may have happened is the text might have been under the diode, so I probably rotated it 180 and the tracks overlapped

So I guess just cut that track.. easy fix..
