So the wires in from the on off switch were not happy, I was cleaning up and some of the pads fell off, perhaps having been overheated previously. I've fixed that and hit it with hot glue for strain relief.

Also, for the SD2IEC, how are you supposed to get into that, presently it just goes into the built in stuff.

So the SD2IEC device didnt work; Im not sure if its possibly the device itself, or something else. Feel free to remove it. A more 'generic' IEC DIN socket would be much preferred anyway, if thats ok?

After a bit of wire fixing, no2 powers up fine, but it has far better visual quality than the modded one. I'll check number 3 later, but it seems to some wires hanging, so a bit more soldering required.

The other two are literally untouched - removed and carefully posted. You can appreciate what I mean now. Those wires just love to come off.

Weirdly it uses the LED to regulate the voltage to the board, though I'm sure it'd be happy to use 3.3v if fed directly.

Like I PMd you before; If it were me, I would probably bypass the LED regulation weirdness, but its your call really.

Its the very least I can do. There are some really cool DTV demos out there and even a game or two.

Of course, I will also pass on anything noteworthy I do with it (once I continue my DTV exploits again).

IIRC, the output was modded for S-vid; composite *may* be working, but I would recommend trying the SVHS connection instead. Does this improve the output? (If not, I guess a better shielded/quality of lead may help).

In fact, on some less tolerant screens, the composite out (of that particular modded DTV) may just be B+W or overly stretched (IIRC?)

Having read some stuff I did wonder if that was the case, but I can't easily use SVideo at my workbench. It does have colour, but it isn't very good.

If what you meant is 'I cant get to test the SD2IEC as the unit boots to the splash screen then game selection screen', then IIRC you need to plug in an AT compliant PS/2 keyboard and hold down (possibly) the 'k' key (or maybe escape?) before powering on.

If the keyboard is AT compliant (the PS/2 and AT keyboard I have here both work on the DTV, but I think Phil had problems with one of his) then the keyboard may *still* act strange (i.e. not type properly, or seems to 'warm up' to actually typing) because - as I stated before - the PS/2 keyboard needs to be ideally powered on *just* before the DTV.

This requires some sort of power on delay system. However, the other simpler solution is to power on and reset the DTV, which achieves the same.

Im not sure if you mean inaccurate colours as compared to the C64 (which would fall to there being a problem with the DTV colourfix modification on this board), or do you mean the colour in general is poorly defined due to chroma/luma noise? (In the latter case, the previous answer about the SVHS connector is still relevant).

With those DTV there is a resistor mod to sort the colours out.
