Right, just got off the phone from the very helpful Avril and here are the answers to some questions I asked;

* Availability in June (Sat/Sun only): 16th 23rd 29th 30th

* PA is just a mic/amp speakers (and ancient by her own admission, so we will need at least a projector if @Icky is doing another talk?)

* 25 x 6ft tables, 6 x 'smaller' tables, 6 x square tables and ~200 chairs, so we should be covered in that regard

* Hall size: 35ft x 40ft

* Kitchen use included

* There is a deposit fee, but its half of the total hall hire cost (@ £20 p/h, 10-6= 8hrs x 20 = £160 hall hire + £80 deposit: quite inexpensive really)

Plus she will kindly send me some pictures of the inside of the hall later today, which I will post up here when I get them.

She also made a point of making sure it was the hall near Bedford that I was actually wanting to hire, *not* the one in Gloucestershire, as they get confused quite often! :lol:

Another thing that apparently happens often is the whole website picture flash shamble, so she is also used to that. :)

Of course Toddington (Bedfordshire) is not only near the M1 it's on the A5 as well.

Yep. I think its pretty much ideal. Well, more so than the other Toddington anyway! :lol:

So access from the M1 is slightly nearer and finding the hall pretty simple:

I did look at the village hall in the village I grew up in, Houghton Conquest, but they didn't give rates and it would be more difficult for Exxos to find.

I need a sat-nav which isn't programmed by some drunk women on rag week. Life be a lot easier if I could just chose the route on googlemaps and download it to my satnav. I think google had some expensive offering a few years back.. maybe there is something cheaper/better these days.

I think that's a good spread.

Again, Im trying to reach the highest target audience here and I have made the assumption that generally more people are at work on a Saturday than on a Sunday, hence suggesting a Sunday.

I did wonder about days as well. Sunday night going back down the M1 was gridlocked, couldn't believe it. No idea if sat-night be any better though.
But sunday mornings I am at my girlfriends, if I went to the event on saturday, then id likely be driving another hour on the day as I have to drive from my house to my girlfriends, I could just go up on friday night. Eiterway, I struggle to get up pre-10am times, and I think 2 hours drive.. I just about start waking up after about 2 hours :lol: :roll: So I can't really say which day would be best.

Cannot really say about what's best for others, everyone has different commitments during the weekends. Some people work on Saturdays, some people do their shopping on Saturdays. I guess you could open a poll for it.. But I can pretty much guarantee you will end up with a 50:50 split for the day anyway :lol:

Anyway, anyone should be able to do a poll in the public chat forum now..
Be warned, that IIRC, once a poll is live, I don't think it can be changed without resetting the results...
