Thanks for posting that @rubber_jonnie. I'll wait and see what you come up with resistor-wise and will then make one up as it'll save having to get the ossc out yo use it.

I've not tried audio out from there yet, but it looks like an easy hookup.

Wondering if the shimmer will improve with some resistors in the RGB lines, perhaps its overdriving the display, any thoughts?
Maybe. On my SCART connector I used the usual resistor values for TTL -> SCART using the Spectrum RGB SCART wiring as a reference.
Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.

Well I tried the resistors and no change.

At that point I decided to re-cap the machine and sure enough every cap I removed was out of spec by a huge amount, not to mention that all had very high ESR.

Only problem is that the machine now does nothing. I have power and clock to the CPU but the data and address lines are doing nothing...

The board is poorly marked so I'm wondering if I have a cap the wrong way round...

I do seem to like making work for myself.

Ok I've figured out that I did have a couple of caps the wrong way around when I went back to look at my earlier photos.

Looking at the silk screen where there are axial caps, the box has a small triangle in one corner to denote the +ve end of the cap.

I now have video again, but I'm having a coffee before I do anything else since the video just reappeared...

Wondering if a tint piece of leg was shorting something and now I've dislodged it?

Coffee drunk and Usagi Electric watched :)

The Enterprise is back to normal again, though I'm not a fan of things that seem to fix themselves...

I will take the win though.

At least it is now recapped and those hideous old capacitors with big ESR and massively out of spec are gone.

As for the shimmer, well it's still there and I'm going to take a punt at the signal being not 100%.

I'm going to order an SD card solution from the guy over at the Enterprise forum next week when I'm paid and I may order his VGA cable to see if that makes any difference and if so, why?

In the meantime I'm just happy the damn thing isn't dead!!!
