Re: Falcon Next Disaster
Has anyone tried or had any dealings with best electronics or wizztronics ? Considering they are the only supplier for Falcon parts, it has to be worth asking them if they are able to repair Falcons in-house or know anyone who can.

I asked Best and they said Wiztronics. Wiztronics is the one that never returned my emails.

Acill is only taking in work for recaps and minor repairs because of schedule.

Is it even possible to buy a motherboard?Glorfindeal wrote: 26 Jun 2024 14:13 No, I’m in the US. I did send an email to Mutant Caterpillar though. Can’t find anyone in the states to look at it. It would be cheaper to send it to the UK than to buy a replacement motherboard.

Wiztronics just got with me, I’ll be sending in my board once they get me a RMA.
By the way, Wiztronics do sell boards when they have them in stock.

I would test the motherboard with original PSU with mobo connected to the TV output (if it has one) and connect it to an old TV via RF
Tell me what you get on screen, white? black? scrolling lines?

Yeah could simply be an nvram issue... Possibly. Might be worth finding that nvram reset program, putting it on a floppy and booting. Or, also, I think there is supposed to be a key combination you can press to do the same thing ... Sorry I don't know off the top of my head though! Not near my computer.

We’ve already determined that the 5 volt rail is shorted.
