Working from home today, good job because that was quick, and two Falcon packages at once, woohoo!

Before I put the booster in my Falcon030 I have to rebuild the PSU which I'm not looking forward to. (I don't have a good track record with PSU refurbs.)

I read about Falcon030's getting killed by PSUs and so bought the refurb kit from Exxos.

Maybe I'll ask the technician at work to do it. Chuck him a box of beer or something.

I wimped out and bought the exxos PSU for the Falcon...both as the lazy way out but also much cooler running (so that will help when I can afford the accelerator at some point in the future)

The Exxos PSU is certainly much cooler running. Suits you, sir. :)

Not to mention the much higher output capacity - again, ideal for an expanded/accelerated bird... ;)

I like it so much I bought another one to use in my STF/M/STE's (and H4/H5 boards) while repairing/restoring them too!

Aye, fitting another one is one of those 'on my list' items.

They're also a great anti-theft device -- if you fit them to two machines no thief will be able to carry off both!

Mine arrived yesterday. Many thanks. It will be a few weeks before I can refurb the power supply and fit it.

I did know that Exxos sold replacement power supplies. But I was thinking I might fit a CT6x in the future which requires a different PSU solution.

In case anyone is wondering, I'm just using a recapped falcon PSU. Though I've also fitted my voltage tweak PCB so I can set the voltage to 5.1v as mine was running about 4.8v before.

My Falcon's PSU is still stock too (recapped on video), so all my DFB1 dev has been on that. Exxos PSU is not a requirement for the accelerator.

My Exxos supply is in my STE, but it *is* nice and cool and one for my Falcon is the the to-do. :)

A couple people said to me in PM that they are waiting for payday. Which is fine of course and understandable.

There are still currently 9 in stock. So I don't think they are going to sell out for a while now anyway, as the initial "boom" seems to have now gone.
