Thanks :)
The PCB representations from the service manual are helpfull, even if it is less accurate than I hoped. At the very least, I have a loose direct visual guide, meaning less instead of switching back and forth between kicad and visual references.

This month step... I could put the eproms and the cartridge port together, even if the cartridge port seems to be a little bit cramped...

That's your controversial portrait A4 layout! ;)sporniket wrote: 20 Oct 2022 07:53 ...even if the cartridge port seems to be a little bit cramped...
One of the first things I normally do on a new project is change the schematic page size to A3. :)

One of my goal is to use A4, to print it at home without the need to assemble. (and at first, I wanted to work on A5, printed on A4, to have big text for those of us that are presbyopic -me included-)

Fair enough. I design on A3 then print on A4 as when I'm assembling stuff I'll have my magna-glasses on anyway ;)sporniket wrote: 20 Oct 2022 10:53 One of my goal is to use A4, to print it at home without the need to assemble. Re: Sporniket's log on hardware stuff
This month I give a little bit of love to my STe. After giving it a new kind of power supply in the shape of a USB-C Power delivery charger, I made a quick and dirty game controller on a cheap prototype board, so that I can play some games a little.
Well, it was so quick and dirty that I had to fix it two times (second times because I snipped the wrong wires at first... anyway here is a reminder of how the ports are wired, and how a joystick should be wired.
The top view, don't pay attention to the resistors, it was an uneeded pull that I had to finally snip away (that was the first fix, with exchanging VCC and GND...)
The bottom view
Tested and finally works with the STe remake of Lotus, I will get a disk image of rick dangerous now.

Atari ST schematic and motherboard recreation update : the ROMs are in place, I have put all the trace I could do with certainty or "not too much guess". The left side of the reference board scan is full of faint/erased traces.

Now that the remake of the RSVE's PCB is done, I am back to the remake of the 260/520 ST main board schematics and PCB...
This week I migrated my workstation to the latest LTS Ubuntu, as a consequence this project is now using Kicad 6.
