Same BS different day

Its either tick boxes or play games to access sites or just outright blocked for no reason these days. Girlfriend also getting more mad as time goes on as Cloudflare blocks her from accessing sites as well. For us, the internet is getting to the point of being even more annoying and unusable as time goes on.

I mean yeah, the forum arguably cause problems for people sometimes as well. At least users stand a chance of being unblocked here. Not like Cloudflare, microsoft, google et'al !

Neither — that's a bee. Specifically an Ashy Mining Bee (Andrena cineraria), a UK solitary bee. The giveaways:

Thick fuzzy coat (flies and wasps aren't that hairy)
Distinctive black body with two bands of pale ash-grey hair on the thorax — diagnostic for this species
Four wings, no "wasp waist"

Completely harmless. Females can technically sting but basically never do (you'd have to squeeze one), and males can't sting at all. They're solitary ground-nesters — each female digs her own little burrow in lawns or bare soil, often in loose aggregations that look like a colony but aren't. April is peak flight season for them, so timing fits.
Just tip the tub outside and let it go. They're excellent pollinators and populations have been declining, so worth the release rather than the swat.

In other news..

Cloudflare is blocking my server IP from accessing github.. Seriously for me personally, Cloudflare is 90% hindrance at this point. Its getting in the way of me even doing basic things, like downloading a file off github ! FFS !

Dawn's soundbar remote stopped working again. Seems the LED solder pads have destrigrated even more. Nothing left! So scratched a bit off what's left of the copper resist and soldered blobed over it all.

Tricky to test on a meter, but clearly voltage increase on the LED when pressing a button now !

Also put some superglue on the LED to try and glue it down to stop it from breaking the pads any more..

Claude 4.7 (and even 4.6) has completely fallen off a cliff for serious coding work , anyone else rage-quitting their subscription?

I’ve been a heavy Claude user for the past couple of months. 4.6 was legitimately the first AI that let me blast through real problems instead of arguing with it all day. I actually got work done.

Then literally over the past couple of days everything went to shit.

I’m on 4.7 now (tried with and without Adaptive). It:

Forgets what I literally just told it
Asks for the exact same information I already gave it
Rushes half-baked “ship it” solutions and then says the rest can be left as “open questions”
Needs to be nagged three times before it will actually dig into a problem
Comes up with solutions that almost work, then basically gives up
Straight-up makes stuff up to avoid doing the work (“this probably wasn’t tested” when I just told it everything was tested)
Constantly says things like "this is a big ask"or "this is a lot of work" then tries to get out of doing it..

Even switching back to 4.6 doesn’t help any more. Same lazy behaviour. It feels like the model is actively trying to get out of doing any real work by any means necessary.

I just unsubscribed and it ends in a couple of days. I might keep the cheap tier for occasional stuff, but it’s clearly no longer capable of reliable, accurate heavy lifting.

I already gave up on every other AI because I spent all day arguing with them. Claude was the only one that actually worked. Now it’s just as bad as the rest. I basically have to argue with to actually look into a problem now !

I know I’m not alone , I’ve seen tons of similar complaints the last 2–3 weeks (caching bugs, system prompt changes, effort-level regression, etc.).

Anthropic even posted some kind of postmortem on the 23rd admitting issues, but the fixes haven’t brought it back to where it was.

So the real question: what are people actually switching to that can handle sustained, complex coding work without the constant babysitting and half-arsed answers?

Not much time for forum or Atari stuff lately. Won't have much time for the next few weeks either. Suddenly got really busy with work which is soaking up my time. Plus the usual "life stuff" which is draining my time to say the least.

Also my girlfriend finally caved in with her knee to get it looked at (again) she can hardly walk now shes in so much pain. So that's all taking up my time as well now. Its double soaking my time up as she keeps getting appointments and on the day, they rin gand cancel, normally "someone rang in sick". So 4 days of appointments now becomes 8 ! So we got xrays, blood tests, they messed one up, so we going again next week.. rinse and repeat.. Every appointment is basically a 2 hour round trip for me. So all taking up time.
She was supposed to have a review at her drs, but she wanted to ask about her knee also. They said they can only talk about one thing Her mum found the same, got more than 1 medical issue to talk about, tough ! Now you have to make multiple appointments! In what fu**king world does that make sense when its near-on impossible to get a appointment in the first place, now they doubling the amount of appointments with all that BS ?! honestly what's the world coming to.. everyone's lost the plot !

Everything is taking 100x longer than it should. Every few weeks I say the same ! Like can't even get a package sent A to B these days without weeks of drama attached.I keep ordering stuff and constantly get let down by companies. I mean its like nobody wants to do their jobs anymore, nobody cares about anything. Then its ends up being me spending my time sorting out endless problems that I shouldn't have to be sorting out in the first place!

So If I keep dropping off the grid for the next few weeks or longer.. thats why. I just don't have the bandwidth to do anything else at the moment.

So for toilet tank decided to explode last night, caused a nice flood. Looks like the crack started from the old overflow pipe hole.

Air-con drama.

So no way really to hook the hose to a open window

Measured the window, went to B&Q and got a sheet of plywood which was just a bit bigger than I needed. Measured the window height, 114cm. Measured the foam edge strips which totaled about 1.5cm. So thought , just take off the 14mm and it will work out fine..

So cutting the wood resulted in this..

So glued it back together... Waiting on some more foam stuff to come, but likely heatwave be gone by the time they arrive. but at least I can start fixing my board up better meanwhile.
