Sounds good.
I trust you'll have Quake running on it by the end of the week then?

The first software house I worked at used Hawks for one of their projects. They were used to route fork trucks in a refrigerated warehouse.
If they had to do any work on the Hawks by bringing them in to the workshop, the temperature change from -30° C used to make them crash.

Re: Husky Helmsman & Hawk arrived in the post today.
So I've been doing a bit of work on and off on the Husky Hawk. So far it's being a bit of a pain.
Its got a rechargeable battery pack and an in built charger. There are a number of headers on the board that connect the power and then the battery to the main PCB. Every time I touch anything to do with those headers I end up lifting tracks or making things worse,. so the Hawk may end up being a parts donor but we shall see.
The Helmsman I'm a lot more happy with. It beeps when I press the power button but nothing on the screen yet as there's no LCD chips. The chip is on order as is the backup battery, so hopefully this will be working next week.

Is it possible the traces have battery damage and thats why they are lifting up so easily?PhilC wrote: 10 May 2026 18:24 So I've been doing a bit of work on and off on the Husky Hawk. So far it's being a bit of a pain.

I'm still waiting on new batteries for the HX-20s, I'm hoping that they arrive before I head off on holiday!!!
