[Fixed] STE Floppy Drive Clue

Just a question...
Before the fix and after too, I still have an error playing the Printer/Joystick Port Test using the diagnostic cartridge.
Could somebody explain why as the STE now works perfectly ?

Some diag cart tests, like these ones, require a loopback.

What @ijor said is correct.

This is the harness I have for use with the diagnostic cart:

It includes loopback connectors for:

1. ACSI
2. Centronics (Printer)
3. Both DB9 joystick ports
4. Serial port (9 and 25 pin loopback dongles separate from the main harness)

The one thing I don't have is test connectors for the DB15 enhanced joystick ports on the STE. I can't say if they ever existed, but these always fail when I run the diag cart for that reason.

Without the harness you have to accept some tests will fail, even if the machine works just fine in practice.
