Seems to be a lot of guitarists around here. I find it ironic Atari helped kill of Rock. :D
I have 5 Strats, 3 Teles a Catalina and a Fender 12 string. I've been hooked on Strats since I first heard Mark Knopfler. The only other electrics I have are a PRS, LP copy, Yamaha RGZ partscaster, Samick SG90 and a Fernandes STJ.

Re: Another soul RIP
Oh I love Guitars too, I too am inspired by Mark Knopfler - grew up listening to Dire Straits. There is something about a well built guitar, just the feel, the weight, the smell, and the sound! I actually learned a bit about guitar restoration a few years back and have repaired/refurbed a Japanese LP copy and a 100 year old Yukulele :)atari030 wrote: 08 May 2022 00:09 Seems to be a lot of guitarists around here. :threadjacked:
It almost sounds like it would be worth having a separate discussion area for this! ;)
I'm still a beginner on the guitar (keyboards & clarinet are my main instruments) but want to improve...time being the biggest problem (as with so many other things)!
Allowing the creative juices to flow can be a great way to change my mood/mental outlook & I've usually found that playing music is one of the most effective (though even listening to music can often help to some degree).
Ok, so we now have:-
Fender Player Plus strat in Tequila Sunrise
PRS SE Chris Robertson signature in Kentucky blue
Epiphone limited edition G400 Deluxe Pro
Epiphone Hummingbird Pro
Yamaha Pacifica 212VQM
Yamaha Pacifica 112J

Regarding getting things broken in shipping, I remember reading about a bike shop shipping their bikes disguised as flat screens. Apparently flat screens get the velvet glove treatment :)
Maybe a similar trick will work with vintage gear. ;)

The laptop VAR "Ergo" used to ship in boxes marked "Delicate scientific equipment". :-)
Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.
