Thank you I could only get a reading from the highest setting on my dvm but the 200ohm setting which I also thought should be fine to read with was just reading 1. I am not too sure if this means it is okay or dead.

You would have to consult your meter manual what 1 means. Generally it's "open circuit" on most meters.

But if that resistor is blown then the main switching transistor could well have failed.
