Finally found some time to get board 1 moving again and now have all the fixes done and some DIL sockets in place, including the extra bodge wire where I broke the 2nd track. :D

H5 A3 board #1 powered on with diagROM in socket...

Reset switch does not seem to cause board to reset. Switch itself is working (5v/0v) but board shows no sign of reset. Output to screen is a white screen.

I did get DiagROM to boot once and show the menu so I had life once and reset switch seemed to be working at that time but nothing after powering it off since. I have checked soldering on sockets a few time and re-flowed solder but this has not changed anything. I am wondering if the reset IC22 is blown or faulty or if the issue is something to do with IC6?

Will also need to start working through the basic troubleshooting to check clocks and boot process...

Did you solder the reset chip in correctly as its orientation is different than the H4... Also you need to jumper the 2 middle pins under flashy socket else reset won't work..

IC22 was soldered in as shown previously which was confirmed as the correct orientation:

and yes, have the Flashy socket jumpered:

Was also wondering if I had not cut the track under IC6 properly and this was still connected, would this stop reset working?

Any shorts or broken tracks will.. That reset line shorts RW to reset for starters...

I have put aside the A3 board for now and started to build my three B1 boards up.

I have a question regarding SMD resistor network (RN) components. Does the orientation of SMD RN on the H5 boards matter?

Nope, they are just single resistors in a "pack of 4".
