Been interesting playing about with MultiTos. It does feel slower and blinky, but great compared to the original TOS which wouldn't let you move anything to the desktop. I also liked the clock and lines demo. Also great that the background can be changed to a colour that hides the effects of being connected to a more modern LCD. Unfortunately Notator hates it. Notator works very nicely inside EmuTos which shares some features but doesn't have the multifunction. Clock and Lines work in EmuTos with their own seperate window. Tried combining them but EmuTos just cancels out the multifunctionality. Would be good to have something on the ST that had both functions although EmuTos runs like a dream on my system even with Notator which is known for it's behaviour when other programs are introduced. There's a great program called LED Panel that gives you a digital clock and drive activity button but it crashes Notator.

Loving trying new things on my Atari. Last time I used Atari TOS 1.04 was all I saw.

No. Am I right in believing that would be a lot of jiggery pokery on my machine? Interestingly, if I run system info whilst running EmuTos it lists the TOS version as 2.06. I assume the 2.06 ROMS would be quite different from this? Probably not going to touch my board again since the main reason for setting this up has been accomplished. Just on the look out for any cool additions/programs which will run without bothering Notator. I'm aware I can potentially have 14 boot configurations but I'm probably gonna use those drives for storage. Need to preserve enough sanity to function.

There are programs somewhere to load TOS into RAM so you can try stuff out without modding the hardware. Or just get a STE ;)

That sounds cool. I think I've spent enough money. Since I only want to work on MIDI there's not much call for other features (Though stereo outs for the internal sound would be nice). I don't think I've ever heard a sound from an Atari in person. The Falcons look pretty neat. Just seen an advert in Atari User for a 12 MB STE RAM upgrade! I'm guessing the sim slots made that possible?

The SIMM module can only handle 256Kb or 1Mb simms. So 4Mb is max. Well, easy way anyway... You have to do other tinkering to get 12 Mb.
