H5 A3 & B1 AMP UPDATE FOR X2 MODULE
Re: H5 A3 & B1 AMP UPDATE FOR X2 MODULE
Just wondering about fitting the two spare S2's that I have to my Mega Sts, the wiring to the midi etc seems pretty easy, will this amp work okay if used with a Mega ST circuit board?exxos wrote: Mon Dec 28, 2020 7:00 pm Now in store at a steal price

Re: H5 A3 & B1 AMP UPDATE FOR X2 MODULE
MEGA will refuse to boot and never work again
Re: H5 A3 & B1 AMP UPDATE FOR X2 MODULE
@exxos same old same old
Well, I now have a TF536, EmuTOS and an S2 connected and playing together in my Mega. Sound volume for the S2 is low as it was on the H5, so I'll fit the amps and will post a how to.

Hello!exxos wrote: Mon Dec 28, 2020 4:32 pm The 2 caps circled on the X2 board need removing and solder blobbing over. These caps create a lot of hiss in the audio and have to be removed.
I know this is a very old thread, but now that I removed the H5 MIDI amp fix wip, and installed back the capacitor removed for it in the Phoenix board, do I need to reinstall the capacitors in the X2 board? And, if so, do you remember the specs of those?
Thanks,
Andres.

The caps are still removed then pads shorted on the X2 module. Those X2 caps generate hiss otherwise.
The winamp board was there to correct the volume levels between the YM and X2 sound. But it's not that much out anyway. Overall it caused more problems than it solved
So just not worth having it anymore.
