T360 keeps hanging

Sounds like a hardware issue has developed somewhere. Raise a return request via eBay and send it back to the clown that built it.

I have a particular refurbished Rev 3 motherboard I bought from eBay a year or so ago, it had been fully recapped by the seller who periodically sells refurbished CD32 motherboards, he even upgraded the composite with a better decoder chip, and removed the RF modulator upon my request. I have used this motherboard since with my TF330 and it has never let me down, well that was until I upgraded to the TF360 and it now crashes after a few minutes as well.

I know my TF360 is not to blame because I happen to own several other CD32 systems and it works fine with them, there is just something out of spec with this particular motherboard which means it won't play nicely with two expansions, the TF360, and my Elsat Pro module, but a TF330, FMV, etc is fine.

Now if I only had one CD32 I would be tempted to think that because my motherboard has recently been recaped, and the TF330 works then there must be something dodgy with my TF360, but this is obviously not the case.

It is reasonable to conclude with all the troubleshooting done so far that the TF360 is the prime suspect. I have absolutely no idea who built this card, but if they are cooperating with the tommolb, then that person should be given the opportunity to test the card and put it right if testing confirms the card.

I should probably clarify the esoteric in-joke at this point for casual readers and the purposes of thread posterity:

I built the card and I am the eBay seller.

The reason for the self deprecation was my slight disappointment that tommolb felt that having bought something from eBay his money had been thrown down the drain. No point in even contacting the seller as they probably wouldn't even reply.

The "no returns" label on listings is merely lip service, if a buyer wants to return a defective item in a reasonable time frame then they can, irrespective of what the listing says. I was unaware that the listing even said "no returns" and was probably a result of drop down whack-a-mole during a previous edit.

The myth that eBay is a den of thieves is regularly perpetuated here and elsewhere. It is almost impossible to lose out on a purchase as they will always favour the buyer in any dispute. If a you want to sell defective junk or ghost buyers then first of all, that's a reflection of the seller rather than the platform and secondly you won't get very far on eBay provided the buyer knows that there is a strong policy in place to protect them.

The freezing issue sounds like the card has an hardware problem either with the CPLD or the CPU so it's on its way back to me to be sorted out.

The clock control issue is likely unrelated. As @supaduper points out, that is usually caused by a version mismatch between the cpuspeed binary and the firmware on the card. However some investigation here points me to something I've put in the startup sequence of the Workbench image causing the card to disappear from autoconfig during boot reset! I've yet to establish exactly what that is but I can recreate the issue with the same image here so I'll dig into it a bit further.

Simply. Check:
-loadmodule command,
-from MMULib package -Move4k command,
-rsrvwarm for the Fusion emulator
-PrepareEmul for Shapeshifter
I have the reset and reboot commands in my C folder after using them Clock Control Device also sometimes fails to boot.

My only comment with the workbench image being amiss is that I created my own Workbench 3.2.2 install from scratch that exhibited the exact same issue with the cpuspeed command? Granted, my 3.2.2 image is just a vanilla install, with WHDload installed and the various commands shoved into the C folder, so I may have needed to add something into the startup sequence to get the cpuspeed command working?

While I am hoping the freezing is a problem with the card (so that goOse can repair it), I am not ruling out a problem with the CD32 unit I have. I only have the one CD32, so sadly it was one of the few variables I couldn't rule out my side. If it is a problem with my CD32 I will be a very sad man as I really wanted a TF360!
