Windows 7 chrome nag bar

Post by exxos »

So chrome keeps moaning I am getting no more updates and to upgrade OS. Well the nag bar just won't go away.

After searching theres conflicting views on what is being supported and what not. Frankly I've gone past caring and just want the bar gone. So after searching this is the script to do just that.

Code: Select all

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Google\Chrome]

"SuppressUnsupportedOSWarning"=dword:00000001
Seems to work so far.

I stopped using Chrome a while back, mainly because it's bad for the democracy of the internet if everyone uses one browser, so I made a choice to use Firefox. Also - you may be interested to know, Firefox supports older OS's for longer & Chrome is planning to put a stop to the technologies Adblockers need in order to work effectively, I always use ublock origin on my browser and certainly wouldn't want it to stop working any time soon. So yeah, might be worth swapping to Firefox if you can be bothered :)

Here is a video about it:

I moved to FF on my tablet (android) but its just getting on my nerves :( Mostly because when I click a box like to log into my email, 90% of the time the saved passwords box doesn't appear. So I can't actually log into my email with FF. Also FF android doesn't support automatic translation which isn't a deal breaker but annoying.

I use FF on windows on my girlfriend's PC. Mostly because all my shortcuts are on there and Dawn likes chrome and shes got all her shortcuts on it.
