Hi,
looking for someone who could help me with that. I have no idea at all how to "burn" the chips but I'd like to have switchable TOS 2.06 and EmuTOS on-board. Anyone? :-)

I could probably do you one if nobody else comes forward meanwhile. I'm not sure when as I am currently sick with Covid and then catch up with work for the next couple of weeks :(

I'm happy to burn you a ROM, but you'd need to supply the actual ROM chip(s) yourself, and preferably the image you'd like burned. I'm in the UK.
The latter isn't too hard to do, I show the full process, including the burning, here (nb. these are 192k STFM images rather than 256k STE images, but same deal without the padding).
If someone offers to supply you a ready-made version, grand, but if not drop me a PM. I'd need a ROM chip (or two, in case one fails), an SAE & the combined & swapped image you want to burn.

@Badwolf
Uh, I did not get notifications about this post. OK, so - If @exxos get well and can do this - fine. If you - no problem too - I'll order the parts and will send them to you :-)

Exxos, would be too complicated, or expensive, an user flashable TOS? I mean something that the user could reflash just with software in the same ST. Or not worth because very few people would be interested? (just an idea thinking in loud voice)

This is what Flashy-clock does. But it's only for the H5 platform. https://exxosforum.co.uk/forum/viewtopi ... 299#p65299 It has 4 flash banks, can use DUALTOS if you have it. It has RTC and 8MB alt-ram. I'm just waiting for the production to finish. I'm only making 34 due to expense and parts shortages.ijor wrote: 30 Oct 2022 21:29 Exxos, would be too complicated, or expensive, an user flashable TOS? Problem is with developing things on original machines, is 95% of the time is chasing stupid faults which I just don't want to do anymore. Hence why I designed a new motherboard which just works as it should. Idea being to spend more time actually developing addons than screwing around chasing bugs on original machines.
Another "problem" is others have done / are doing, various flash solutions and various projects. I know there was a STE flash solution a few years ago but I think production stopped, assume shortages. But anyway, with the Atari market so small, there no point really even considering porting stuff to original machines. Unless demand was high enough, but it never will be, unfortunately.
But also as I keep saying, I have RSI, so my Atari / project days are pretty much over now unfortunately :(. @Icky routed Flashy-clock for me and some other projects. I can't hardly solder anymore, or type, or get very far doing PCBs or any sort of PC work these days. I have to write the utils myself which I just can't do anymore either. It's why @Icky is pretty much working on the FPGA code on his own these days. I can type a few lines on a PC, then I am in pain :(
Thanks, yes getting better slowly.

@exxos
Ok, so how we will do it? As far as I presume, I should buy this - 0139 and that - 0143 (but not flashed) from https://exxosforum.co.uk/atari/store2/, right?

Re: WANTED - EmuTOS for STE DUAL TOS from exxos
I don't sell blank ROMs currently. I don't run my store my girlfriend does and I don't live with her, so it's not simple to do custom orders. I need to create a entry in the store for such items and add them to stock which is where all the time goes. I am swamped with a backlog of work so could be a few weeks before I get time to do that. But I could do the ROM for you, but takes time to get through all these jobs I need to do for people.
BW was suggesting you send him the ROM to program. But I think the blank ROM can be hard to find now. I have a small stock of ROMs but takes time to look for them also.
If you can wait for a couple weeks I hope work will be less and I will have more free time.

Re: WANTED - EmuTOS for STE DUAL TOS from exxos
If I were you, I'd go to eBay and search for HN27C4096. Look for the PLCC package with the UV window.
Buy two or three of those.
They'll be second hand and probably 40 years (that's why you need to buy a few), but you can re-use them when you want to change your OS configuration.
Like Exxos says, there aren't many AT27C4096s available from suppliers at the moment, so I don't think you're losing much by going for oldies.
If you send me the erasables, and tell me what ROMs you want, I'll assemble the combined image and burn it for you. If you send me one time programmables (ie. the modern AT ones), then I'd ask you send me the combined ROM image too -- no cock ups.
When you're ready, drop me a PM.

PS, here's some discussion on these: https://exxosforum.co.uk/forum/viewtopi ... =27&t=4271
