How loud are the key clicks ? I can only think that you would only hear that noise if the monitor volume is turned up full.

The volume you can hear all that noise with it up about 1/4 of full, the buzz in the background and the change in the buzz when you do any I/O .. if you turn it up full, well it's LOUD.. and not fun.exxos wrote: 26 Nov 2021 01:29 How loud are the key clicks ? Anything you can do is put the scope on the MB audio connector and actually see how much noise is there. But I don't know of any actuation where it could actually be worse than the original machines unless there is some bizarre fault on the audio circuit somewhere.
Maybe someone else out there who has got one built can try and confirm that it's a problem in general or not..

Yeah, I'd mostly noticed it was very noisy while using my MouSTer which isn't noticeable on my STe at the same volume. Though turning up the volume a bit there's definitely noise while doing floppy disk accesses from a gotek.

Odd. I will try and look at it on my board when I get chance. Not sure then if this problem came with the new amp circuit or not as previous versions used a more original circuit..DaveC wrote: 26 Nov 2021 19:30 Yeah, I'd mostly noticed it was very noisy while using my MouSTer which isn't noticeable on my STe at the same volume. Saying that, I wonder if it could be because it is expecting the MIDI module as well.
I guess just try linking pins 1,2,4 to disable the second audio amp, I can only think because that is not connected to anything that that signal could be picking up interference from the floppy drive

My quick bodge test agrees. No more floppy noises through audio. :D
The MouSTer is still noisy unfortunately

:bravo:
Not sure why that would cause noise. Its going via the keyboard and ACIA circuit.. Does a normal mouse or keyboard cause noise ?

It's a standard PC floppy cable I just happened to have spare, I've got a gotek connected pre-twist or it wouldn't work.alienkidmj12 wrote: 03 Dec 2021 11:44
