WANTED: Booster board for STE

Ideally something with a minimum of 32Mhz 68030 and some way to add extra (Alt-TT-Fast) RAM.
Or maybe a combination of boards (like Exxos Plugin Booster + some RAM expansion).
I know most of these boards need to replace ROM chips with a fast decoding board, so I would need that too.

I guess I have come 3 or 4 years late to this party... But I'm not giving up.

I'm also considering building it myself, so pointers to GERBER files and reliable build instructions are also welcome.

Exxos sells 32 Mhz boosters and Fast ROM TOS boards.

TF536 in exxos store also work but you need to solder and program the xilinx chip on it your self.

EDIT: As @Steve mentioned below, you will also need an adaptor (DIP-PLCC). Forgot that this thread was about STe. :o

Thanks a lot for your responses. I'm not afraid of soldering but I don't have the equipment to program any chips.

I saw the 32Mhz plugin boosters from Exxos and I'm very tempted to order one when they are available again....

.... but I really want to add more memory to my ST (Alt/Fast Ram ideally) to be able to run MINT and some serious programs (like Calamus).

I don’t think I have seen anyone put a TF536 in an STE. Would be a bit of a stack with the PLCC to DIP board and require supporting.

Have you thought of perhaps getting an STFM or short ST for productivity apps / mint. You'll be able to get that extra ram you need and maybe even a graphics card because of the DIP CPU.

Use your STe as a game machine :)

It's not that you're late to the party. It's just that nobody has made an alt ram adaptor for an STe because of its PLCC CPU.

Actually you could add a MonSTer board on the STE for alt-ram but you will have to choose between alt-ram and booster as you won’t be able to fit both.
If you really want both, clearly an ST or an H5 will be the solution as mentioned by Steve.

STE speeder + AltRAM is one of the projects on my list.

But it's a long way down my list, alas. :-(

I think @exxos was experimenting with 3d-printed PLCC socket inserts to support pins going into the 'front' side of the sockets (in effect, homebrew Winslow plugs). This has long been my planned method to tackle the STE.

I'm still hoping he'll solve the problems and start selling a Winslow alternative. ;)
