Re: Oops, my obsession with computers from my childhood strikes again!
Now I have the memory card, I'm trying to figure out if my machine can do double hi res graphics.
It seems that if it can't, then the computer won't work if the jumper is made on the RAM card, which mine is.
Following the instructions here http://www.1000bit.it/support/manuali/a ... ie.03.html it seems like I have DHRG.
Bit of a head scratcher, need more time and testing. Also a clearer display would be helpful.

Hmm reading more it seems the Rev A machines, which mine might be, can be upgraded to near Rev B by replacing 4 chips, but DHRG doesn't work on these. Would be nice to have an easy way of checking!!

An easy way of checking if you can do double hi res is to run Prince of Persia (which will also test the extra RAM).

I'll need to wait until my Floppyemu arrives to try that, but try I will :)lilwashu wrote: 27 Aug 2021 15:30 An easy way of checking if you can do double hi res is to run Prince of Persia (which will also test the extra RAM).
USPS have it and it needs to get to the UK, so I reckon on a couple of weeks time.

I'm blaming you lot!
All this talk about Apple IIe computers has made me get one too finally.
Made an offer for one with a couple of drives and expansion cards but with a psu that went pop when they tested it (dawn rifas strike again)
Will post pics when it arrives hopefully sometime next week.

Nice one. The RIFAs fail open circuit so once you get them replaced you should be fine. One is on the PCB, the other directly across the live and neutral with a discharge resistor.PhilC wrote: 29 Aug 2021 23:15 I'm blaming you lot!

I think it's an enhanced //e with the black lettering on the key caps but will know more when it arrives. I'll share the restoration photos.Tomswork wrote: 30 Aug 2021 00:00 You must embrace the rifa caps and de smell the psu. What model apple did you get ?
