This is not "new" ... We have had to edit posts because of the amount of people linking to external sites etc. Then we have loads of posts with no images anymore.. If people followed the rules and how to put images in posts, half this moderation wouldn't have to be done in the first place.TheNameOfTheGame wrote: 15 Mar 2021 14:43 Hmmm, good to hear your stance...this new "feature" of the forum doesn't appeal to me tbh. I think people's posts should not be edited unless by them or if they request it of the mods.

Well sure, every forum has to do that kind of moderating for spam, links, etc. But when I hear about editing posts for "readability"...spelling, grammar, etc. Eh, I worry about that.exxos wrote: 15 Mar 2021 14:58This is not "new" ... Re: New moderator derkom
Why ? We are not checking grammar, just typos mostly. I am native English and I sometimes struggle to work out what people are on about due to typos.. Then what about France, German people etc who struggle further with English ?TheNameOfTheGame wrote: 15 Mar 2021 15:15 Well sure, every forum has to do that kind of moderating for spam, links, etc. But when I hear about editing posts for "readability"...spelling, grammar, etc. Eh, I worry about that.
IMO having a forum full of typos / spelling mistakes in general just doesn't set a very good "tone" for the forum.

In the end, it's your forum. It won't stop me from visiting here or anything. It's ok to agree to disagree on the level of editing proposed. :D

Hail derkom! So for all intensive purposes you won't be editing posts? Even if their wrong?

Anyone who says "intensive purposes" for example. It was a joke.

Don't worry, I have a good sense of humour and a thick skin. ;-)
But as for worrying... I worried as soon as I saw this thread that @exxos was going to ruffle some feathers by overstating things a bit. Seriously, the job here is mostly just "this picture is positioned poorly", "this shouldn't be an external link", or "my god this is unreadable". I do not want, nor will I accept, a role of Nitpicker in Chief. Everybody stop worrying! Including me!
