One thing I forgot to mention is that you have to be happy with a short IDE cable on the A2000 since according to @8 Bit Dreams the card won't boot on the A2000 if the buffers are installed and the external IDE buffers don't work either.

Re: A2000 Rev4 with TF536
I've no idea why this is the case though. Since the A2000 is really not involved in the IDE bus cycles at all.alenppc wrote: 16 Dec 2020 13:27 One thing I forgot to mention is that you have to be happy with a short IDE cable on the A2000 since according to @8 Bit Dreams the card won't boot on the A2000 if the buffers are installed and the external IDE buffers don't work either.

Re: A2000 Rev4 with TF536
It is suprising to me as well, but I don't have an A2000 myself to test this out, so I really can't say.terriblefire wrote: 16 Dec 2020 13:36I've no idea why this is the case though. Re: A2000 Rev4 with TF536
I have to say that I've been using the TF536 from Paul J. on my rev 4.4 mobo with very good success. The newer TF firmware did help quite a bit TBH. Haven't done the board mods yet to bring 4.4 to 6.2 but will get round to it at some point.

Re: A2000 Rev4 with TF536
Also I have a buffered IDE setup on my 536 and can use a 10" IDE cable to a CF card reader in the PCI slot at the back. I used one of the more upmarket card readers (StarTec?) works very well indeed.

Re: A2000 Rev4 with TF536
So does that mean the 536 DOES boot on the A2000 with buffers? I am confused. I thought 8-bit-dreams said this doesn't work.

I've sold a few buffered TF536's to A2000 owners with no issues at all.
