TF536 + 68000 relocator and ROM board project.

I've tried integrating the four US version images into one and burning.

Doesn't boot with the 68000.

Using the diag cartridge and testing the ROM I get address errors:

0x46632F
0x466333
0x466337
0xD11D1F

Plus three CRC errors.

The US version may be broken.

Expected, as PAK-TOS is not meant to be run on a 68000.

When I emulate a ST with 68030 in Hatari, it boots.

Obviously something Royal Mail did has caused it issues.

I'm going to have to look at this further, possibly reflowing some solder. Reading memory addresses right up to 0x3ffffe works then 0x400000 locks the machine and halts the processor.

When running on the 68000, as expected it gives two bombs.

Still no luck with the Alt-RAM, however during my testing I tried the 512K PAK/3 ROM and it works, though I have to hit reset to get it to boot. I think it's failing the Alt-RAM test and it's noted in RAM where it's got to and doesn't bother with the Alt-RAM test. It's not very stable though and the display colours

When I try EmuTOS the machine usually hangs with a white screen (60Hz). However, if I keep hitting the reset button about 1 in 5 times it produces a pattern at the top of the screen. This pattern is always the same, almost as if there's an addressing error somewhere, or it just could be crashing in the same way and scrawling into video memory in the same way.

BTW, alt ram isn't at $400000 on an ST, thats where it sits on an Amiga. The exact address escapes me presently, hopefully someone else can remind us.

h400000 +8MB is generally alt-ram on a 68000 , below is ST RAM.., but on the 030, AFAIK TT-RAM generally exists above the 16MB 68000 area.. and goes on for 32MB or 64MB or whatever is fitted.

I've not read all the posts, but sounds like you are testing ST-RAM, and its failing at h400000 which is alt-ram , but its not at that RAM location anyway on a 030.. so a error is to be expected. So alt-ram on a 030 should start at h1000000.. At least that is where I assume alt-ram on the TF536 starts..

I can read and write to addresses in the range 0x1000000 to 0x4fffffc. I'm testing with YAARTTT at the moment.

P.S. Still no errors yet. It's almost as if maprom/fastram/EmuTOS etc. are maybe picking up the wrong memory size or location from somewhere and trying to use non-existant memory. I wonder how they determine this.
