Not Dectecting UltraSatan Mini

Hi im a newish user to the ST i currently have an STe , that currently has 4mb of ram (purchased from the shop here) ,and a gotek and to my knowledge is using the TOS it was shipped with, my issue is i have a UltraSatan Mini i have purchased with a preconfigured SD card. The ST seems to refuse to detect it, the Ultra satan powers up etc and flashes but the STe just ignores it and loads into TOS.

Any ideas what the issue could be? or what i could try ? Ive read elsewhere it could be a bad DMA and mine is supposedly one of the numbers that are 'bad' but yet i have read conflicting information that bad dma are myth.

Can you upload some pictures of the startup screen to see if the driver is finding the asci chain or if there is a driver there at all

Nothing comes up at all just a white screen floppy light is on for a bit and its like its seeking a disk and then loads into TOS like always in my experience at least. Thats what its always done since ive had the machine . Does the same when satandisk is plugged in to? thats why it seems like its not detected by the machine.

I don't know what the preconfigured card is.. But if you get the hd11 demo and run it from floppy, you can see if the HDD is detected.
As for bad DMA chips etc.. Info outside of this forum is likely nonsense.

Ive just ran the demo from floppy and it says Atari ACSI 0.0: No Device
No Partitions
Used Memory 39Kib

Im guessing thats not a good sign?

Indeed. You need a different ST to try it on really. Also note some PSUs are not great as well.

Yeah sadly dont have another ST to try , could it be anything to do with the CPU i read on here that can often fix certain issues. It being replaced i mean with one from the shop.

It could be as simple as corrosion in the connector of the st the port may never have been used. And it maybe the psu just can not supply enough power to ultrasatan. I don't know if the mini has any place for outside power
