Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.

Saw that one & thought you were the one bidder so I refrained from bidding on it. Glad you won it & hope the spares you need are working on that one.
I was hoping to get a second Mega but once again it went out of my price range :cry:

Fingers crossed it'll either be a source of good spares, or a good donor for another H4 maybe. I have about 4 or 5 spare keyboards so the missing keys are not a problem.
I got lucky with my 2nd Mega, a 1, I had to drive an hour and a half to pick it up, but it was £50 and in top condition. Missing a keyboard, but I have an Eiffel so all good. Kept it in more or less the condition it came in, but it may get an IDE adapter once the updated ones are available from exxos. My other Mega, a 4, is well documented on the forum, but managed to get that for £65, again no KB and a lot of TLC required. It's fab now though :)

Re: Stuff and Things.
Well, the DMA and YM have now been socketed and the chips replaced in my test board, but the floppy drive still isn't working. Looking rather like it's heading for donor land. Also pulled the GLUE and fitted it to the H4, but that was fine too.
Annoying, because the GLUE was what was causing floppy problems in my 520ST and replacing it brought it back to full working floppy again. Useful since it doesn't have an internal FDD.
Will have a think about what's next whilst I'm away

Re: Stuff and Things.
Slight aside, I'm going to have a go at ordering my first PCB, a Mega ST IDE interface that uses the MegaBus socket. Already sourced some MegaBus connectors, so we'll see what turns up!!

What board are you ordering RJ... the only one I've seen is PP's design someone built the board for.. :)rubber_jonnie wrote: 15 Mar 2020 09:06 Slight aside, I'm going to have a go at ordering my first PCB, a Mega ST IDE interface that uses the MegaBus socket. Re: Stuff and Things.
Yep it's PPs. I don't really need any more IDE interfaces, as I have 2 Beta boards and 2 new ones from exxos, so it's just a bit of fun and seeing how I get on with PCBway.PaulJ wrote: 15 Mar 2020 14:13What board are you ordering RJ... the only one I've seen is PP's design someone built the board for.. :)rubber_jonnie wrote: 15 Mar 2020 09:06 Slight aside, I'm going to have a go at ordering my first PCB, a Mega ST IDE interface that uses the MegaBus socket.
