Don't get me wrong, I've got a fair stack of original games myself, but there's no chance any of them are getting inserted into a 30 year old disk drive.

My HDD performance in Workbench is pretty slow, but I get the normal 1,2 MB in benchmarks. Some games take several minutes to load. Not sure why that is. Games like King's Quest V and VI take forever to load.

4D Sports Driving is a decent 3D racing game on the system. I used to play it on PC. It's frame rate locked but has two modes, the A2500 mode has a decent framerate. It was horrible on the 68000, and very buggy, but with WHDLoad fixes and 030 it's a nice game. The track editor is very cool. I had fun with that back in the day on PC.

Have you installed MMULIB ?
That should help with responsiveness in workbench.

Thanks that made a huge difference.

I removed the female headers from the CPU reloactor and soldered the accelerator directly to the relocator today to reduce the height. That way the RF shield fit over it. It doesn't overheat. The RF shield gets warm around the are of the cpu and probably spreads the heat. I might add some thermal compound between them. I cut a slot in the shield to pass the IDE cable through. I also added some hot glue posts under and above the accelerator to keep it from creeping out of the socket or sinking down on the motherboard.

Maybe I'll change to an SDcard adapter and make a small SDcard extension to reach the side expansion door so I Can cluse up the Amiga for good.

I have RF Shield Anxiety too. It's a real thing. Although I know it serves no practical purpose and hinders expansion, I can't bear to leave off my 'ole faithful rusted shield of my original machine from the 90's :shrug:

Now that I've got this Amiga sorted I'd like to get an A1200, to get AGA and more chipram support, but holy crap are they expensive. Will have to look out for one that needs repairs. I don't fancy getting one that has been recapped by some randon ebayer I don't trust.

I found cases and keyboard for reasonable prices. It would be fun to build one using one of those new motherboards.
