Play games in colour and then switch to mono for Spectre GCR and Mac mode, and back again.exxos wrote: Fri May 31, 2019 3:59 pmYeah, I was in two minds When designing it where to put it, but I went with compact on this version, but I might move it above like you say as it is a bit hard to get at where it is, but how often would people change it anyway..PhilC wrote: Fri May 31, 2019 3:53 pm Looks great. Only suggestion I would make whilst seeing it in situ would be to change the jumper location to above the monitor socket perhaps?

Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.

I guess that it'll need a sturdy 3D printed case. I can see a slight tug on the VGA cable causing the PCB to break just above the pins.

Re: exxos blog - random goings on
I've tried breaking the PCB and can't do it. Someone really would have to bash the thing to hell to break it.. but likely break the ST socket well before that anyway. Unfortunately its the only way it will fit on the MEGA ST. The UBE had the VGA connector on the bottom which I think was better, but it doesn't fit the MEGA. So can't have it both ways unfortunately.stephen_usher wrote: Fri May 31, 2019 6:53 pm I guess that it'll need a sturdy 3D printed case. Re: exxos blog - random goings on
It will be nice to actually have the choice of plugging a floppy in, unlike with the UBE one.
If it ain't broke, test it to Destruction.
Re: exxos blog - random goings on
I just checked with a floppy connector and there is a little bit of play room , so I angled the corners a little more...PhilC wrote: Fri May 31, 2019 8:56 pm It will be nice to actually have the choice of plugging a floppy in, unlike with the UBE one.

Yeah that'll help with PCB strength

Reprinted last night, took about 3 hours, so not my longest job (6-7 hours is the longest), here is the result:rubber_jonnie wrote: Thu May 23, 2019 9:01 amNot impressed, the print job stopped about 2 hours in for some reason. At first I thought my print server had rebooted, but no. No logs as to why it stopped either. Need to print it again now![]()
Sill needs cleaning up. I'm doing another PSU recap soon so I may see how good a fit it is whilst I have it stripped down.

Looking good! Had forgotten all about the PSU bracket in the mix of everything.rubber_jonnie wrote: Mon Jun 03, 2019 10:05 am Reprinted last night, took about 3 hours, so not my longest job (6-7 hours is the longest), here is the result:
