Re: General Stuff(tm)
I've uploaded the STL and Fusion 360 design files to Thingiverse... https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:7391888
Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.

Re: General Stuff(tm)
Reprinted the top case and "hat" to bring them up to the newer versions which fix a number of small problems and found a new one... the floppy mounting holes are 1mm too low. So fixed the model and uploaded the new one to Thingiverse.
Painted in Graphite Grey paint, which is still very slightly lighter than the paint used on the case but close enough.

Finally got around to getting the Enterprise floppy interface video out.

Hi Stephen, I'm just looking at your floppy PCB and feeling too lazy to work it out for myself. I've got all the components soldered on to my PCB as above, other than the Trafo as I've got a self powered floppy drive that I'll be using. Was this photo the sum total of items that needed to be installed? (other than the missing GAL and 240 as you'd said above.)stephen_usher wrote: Fri Jul 24, 2026 5:52 pm Built and videoed the building of the floppy interface this afternoon.

I'm still awaiting the 22V10 GALs and 74LS240s from Mouser, which were originally slated to arrive today but have been delayed until Monday.
Somehow I got straight 34 pin header sockets. I most definitely selected the filter for right-angled ones in the RS web interface. Oh well. It just meant some "fun" fitting R5, R8 and R6 as the designer had left zero room around them and they were too close to the socket connections. Got them in though.
You may have noticed a hack for the power. No need for the high amperage buck regulator components on the board as I'm not going to be powering anything from the board and I'm not going to be installing the expansion header, so the 1 amp Traco will be ample to power everything. No need for the second 74LS240 as I'll only be using a single Gotek with the machine and not four drives. I also have the EXDOS ROM in the cartridge, so no need for that socket or the jumpers to configure the addressing either.
If it ain't broke, test it to Destruction.

Re: General Stuff(tm)
The Traco is powering the whole board as there’s no +5V on the expansion port, merely unregulated 9V.

Ok thanks, I'll do something similar then.stephen_usher wrote: Sat Aug 15, 2026 5:32 pm The Traco is powering the whole board as there’s no +5V on the expansion port, merely unregulated 9V.

Here's a quick demo of Yoomp! on the Enterprise in 16 colour mode. There's also a faster 4 colour version.
And here's Magic Ball.

Definitely a powerful machine, have you seen Rick Dangerous? Looks quite good.stephen_usher wrote: Sun Aug 16, 2026 3:26 pm Here's a quick demo of Yoomp! on the Enterprise in 16 colour mode. There's also a faster 4 colour version.

Re: General Stuff(tm)
Yeah, it's a CPC port. Most of the more colourful games are CPC ports... most have a software CPC emulator underneath. Most of the Spectrum "ports" have a software Spectrum emulator underneath too. EXOS is effectively a hypervisor.rubber_jonnie wrote: Sun Aug 16, 2026 6:43 pm Definitely a powerful machine, have you seen Rick Dangerous? Looks quite good.
