Hi, which TOS upgrade can I buy for my STF? Currently, I have 6 sockets, but the TOS (1.0) is on only 2 chips. I am still new to the ST world, and it is not clear if I can use the dual TOS or another type of TOS. The ideal is to be able to use any HDD solution for my STF.
Thanks

Assuming English
https://www.exxosforum.co.uk/atari/store2/#0119
You will likely need to change some jumpers. Info is here anyway.
https://www.exxosforum.co.uk/atari/last ... m#TOS6CHIP
Also check you have the LS11 chip installed.

Re: TOS for STF with 2 chips
Hi, thank you for the prompt answer.
So, for the STF, the 1.04 is the newest possible TOS.
Fair enough, the important thing is that it can handle ACSI2STM or similar solutions.
I also saw the kit 0131 with the rom 0050 and the decoder 0248. Is that also an option?
Sorry for the silly question. I am new to the ATARI world. I started some time ago, but for personal reasons, I had to stop until now.
Thank you for your time

If the dual tos board fits your board then yes you can use a 206 decoder and switch between 104 and 206.

Re: TOS for STF with 2 chips
Hi, the order arrived perfectly (order EX58BAFB77A9C18A211B208DB1E13486).
Please, allow me a couple of silly questions just to avoid damaging my beloved STF (mb C070789).
The dual tos board goes in HI-2 LO-2 or HI-0 LO-0?
The white bodge wire from the dual tos packaging now goes in the hole of the decoder instead of pin 8 of the sn74sl11n?
Does the decoder go in the socket of the chip C025912-38 on top of the chip?
On the dual tos, I should solder, on the CE select, the middle and glue pad?
In the decoder packaging, there was no bodge wire. Is it still needed(I got some)?
Thank you.

Re: TOS for STF with 2 chips
I'm a bit confused what you are asking.. the install instructions are here and simple enough to get dualtos working first of all.. ?
https://www.exxosforum.co.uk/atari/last ... htm#DTSTFM
Then the white wire would go to the decoder board instead of the LS11 to give the TOS 104 / TOS206 decoding.

Hi, sorry to be such a burden.
Ok, and about the decoder (0248), the picture shows a black wire soldered on the board between a pin and an ic. Is that wire still needed?
Thank you

I'd suggest that if the decoder you have is the same model as the instructions that you will need the bodge wire unless @exxos can state otherwise.

What version is your board ? The fix was done in version 1.2B but I don't recall if those got made yet or not.. ( I think not)Monotamp3 wrote: 16 Jun 2026 16:01 Ok, and about the decoder (0248), the picture shows a black wire soldered on the board between a pin and an ic. Is that wire still needed?
