Hi I thought I would put this out here to see if anyone has any experience running a VT 2000 Video Toaster with modern OS versions on Amiga 2000, vs the 2.0 to 3.1 commonly used around the early 90s. My A2000 is the Rev 6.2 (PAL) but now has a switchable Kickstart, 2mb NTSC/PAL agnus, Dicke Olga 030 accelerator, and GBAPII++ RTG Card, plus Gotek for A Drive and CD Rom. I did a Reinstall recently of the 3.2 OS with Updates using kickstart 3.2 and also installed the Best Classic Workbench as per my amiga 1200 as I like those features, as I have moved over to the DICKE OLGA for my Hard Disk, Everything was running great until I installed the 4.3 Video Toaster software bundle which contains Lightwave and 2 versions of Video Toaster software 3.5 and 4.2 I only use the 3.5 version as the other is best suited for non linear editing system with enhancements/video flyer setup. I Know my Amiga is PAL but the toaster has worked previously note I had it connected to a PAL/NTSC screen and was feeding the Toaster an NTSC signal using a time based corrector, so I know the software runs and I am pretty certain I had no issues with the OS at the time, the only thing is I cannot be sure what version of OS I was running as I previously used the Buddha IDE plus One card for my Hard Drive and that originally had OS 2.1 and later 3.1. The Problem I am experiencing is I do a Clean install of 3.2 no classic workbench or any other software, just the RTG card. and then I install the Video Toaster onto a seperate Partition, but it still writes some files to the OS as afterwards the toaster runs but after a reboot my Icon Information stops working. There is no option within the installer to control the destination of individual files.
I have reverted back to the earlier OS 3.1 with Kickstart 3.1 and find no issues as of yet but I'd really like the benefits of the 3.2, I am testing out 3.1.4 but still 3.2 would be ideal. So I am just wondering if anyone has experienced this and came up with a workaround, there maybe other issues which I have yet to encounter with this setup, obviously Video Toaster is a Legacy Device and Software and I am making this Amiga 2000 more than it ever was but technically it should be okay, just a software glitch. ANY IDEAS ? Much Appreciated, Thanks Jamie.

You may inadvertently get banned because a previous attack may have used the IP you are now on.
So I suggest people only use fixed IP address devices until I can think of a solution for this problem!

Personally I would not bother with Kickstart 3.2 and upgrade to the latest version (3.2.3), there are a few nasty bugs in 3.2.
What happens if you reinstall your workbench after installing the apps?

Re: Running a Video Toaster on A2000 3.2 OS ?
Hi Maximilian Sorry for the late reply, I have been mostly unwell since end of Feb and only just seen this,
I have considered the upgrade to 3.2.3 but in all honesty it bugs me a little as I had only just upgraded my roms in 2 machines, and the one in my A2000 toaster machine has a switchable rom and the 3.2.3 was not included at the time of purchase, I thought I would wait a little and see if it changes again any time soon, or at least see if anyone replied to this post.
I had not thought of trying to re install the workbench after installing the Video toaster software/RTG card. (Keeping the VT/RTG software files intact)
Perhaps I will get the later 3.2.3 and have 1 more go. All this being said I have been pretty happy with the 3.1 OS and the original magic workbench.

If I'm correct if you buy 3.2.x you can always download the latest version of the 3.2.x roms for free.
There is now a version of Onerom that you can use for Amiga kickstarts, so that would be a nice match.

If it wont work with 3.2 then it wont work with any variant of 3.2.x, such as 3.2.1 or 3.2.2.1 or 3.2.3.1.3.7.9, you get the idea.
It'll be one of those things that will be Kickstart 2 or 3.0/3.1 only....

They did some fubars in 3.2 that was fixed in later versions... this includes the Icon library.
Did you try to manually copy the icon.library and workbench.library from the Workbench 3.2 disk to your system's LIBS: directory?
