Yes - the overlays make a big difference for some games. Also built-in intellivoice, I can't really play B17 bomber effectively without both. :(
IMHO they did a great job of it, though annoyingly they didn't include AD&D in the built in games and the overlay for that would be super helpful.

Other than that it's good.

Leaving out one of the most iconic games is a bit of a miss. It's playable without the overlays ofc. I see that someone is rewriting it with a plan to add new features. It's progressed really far now and I'm keeping an eye on it. https://forums.atariage.com/topic/38640 ... tain-2-wip

Hmm interesting.

I do have an image of the overlay which is used for the USB stick so I could potentially make my own overlay.

Will be very interested to know how to create them, they're really needed for some of the games.

Just an image, I downloaded a truckload ready made, but you can make them yourself, it's just a JPG of a certain size I think.
As did I but I think they are on my other laptop (Windows not my main Mac)

I need to go have a look. There are tutorials I think.

I looked online - doable but I don't have all the equipment at home, so might be better to buy instead. If Atari released the overlay pack for the Sprint for general purchase, I could potentially pickup the others I'd like from eBay.

You might want to check out the Minty firmware for the Pirto 2 available from https://github.com/gtortone/Minty - it's a big step up from the original versions. Apart from the better UI and support for longer file names, it pretty much removes the need for the 'cfg' files. It detects the main games ('bin' files) from a 'fingerprint' and the rest can either remain with their accompanying 'cfg' file, or a 'rom' file can be used instead (it includes the config details). Programs can be converted to 'rom' files using the 'bin' and 'cfg' using the jzintv emulator tool called 'bin2rom.exe'. It's a much cleaner setup. :)

It would make a lot of sense for them to release more overlays given the Intellivision library.
