Got word from one of my minions that its died again. Runtime is assumed to have been about 5 hours. So huge improvement but still not perfect. I may try upping the voltage to 5.1v and see what happens Monday...

Over they years I have fought the crash that occurs after some length of time. Its enough to make one pull all their hair out. Raising the voltage will cause more heat.. on and on.. :smackbum: Sure would be nice to catch the hang/crash on a logic analyzer if its actually something that has a specific failure. Whats the fastest speed they all appear to run at?

32MHz is the calculated upper limits, but this is running 36Mhz, so the ROM is like 55ns being run at like 40ns or something.

The thing has waitstate enable, so end users will have to experiment with it, maybe is enough people try it, we can narrow something down some more.

Its odd that some machines run with 40MHz.. though I have noticed the integrated blitter machines seem to suffer from some odd problem with ROM_CS.. so maybe its slower by a few ns on the integrated boards or something...

5.1V may work better, or it may be the main MB cap needs replacing.. does seems like power is a factor in all this though.

Finally home! total run time was actually 385mins 117 loops, about 6 hours 41mins..

I will try some more caps across the MB tomorrow in other places. I think a 5V regulator on the ROM would work better.. also could up the voltage to 5.2V on there directly.. but again more work :(

Obviously it's a tesla coil.

If all else fails.. Increase the voltage...
