As forum etiquette dictates I should have done this ages ago. Apologies for that but hopefully it not too late yet.
I am Erik, located in Sweden and have only the last year recently started to sink my teeth into the Atari ST.
Quite a few years back I retrieved my old C128 from the attic and started playing around with it, which proved to be rather fun. I then started to read some forum content suggesting recaps and PSU refurbishment in order to prevent the old C128 from going up into smoke and promptly I proceeded to try that.
That did not mangle that poor computer half as much as one could have expected given the overconfidence and the poor tools used. It did cause some carnage, which prompted more forum reading and purchasing of better tools in order to properly fix it. I then remembered how I actually never quite used that 128 very much since all my friends had moved in to Amigas, of which I was extremely envious of but could not afford myself at the time.
So I went to look for a nice Amiga to play around with which turned out to be an A1200. After having played with it for a bit I thought that some kind of accelerator to go with it would be nice so I purchased a vintage 68030 card. That card would then of course not want to work stably in that 1200, so off down the path of recapping and applying some of the timing fix Voodoo that might be needed. This required SMD soldering skills and equipment so after having acquired all that there 1200 would not work great with that accelerator. After which I stumbled across the ReAmiga project so why not try and build one of those, which I did and to my slight puzzlement it did work with only minor initial frustration and solder fixes.
Actually fixing computer problems using diagnostic ROMs, a multimeter and an oscilloscope is really extremely fun and rewarding - and sometimes the opposite, I will admit.
Things tend to snowball a bit sometimes. I have since progressed to build myself the A4000TX for which I then needed a CPU card and conveniently the beta-ish version of the long awaited TF4060 became available, which is what led me to this forum to begin with.
Since Atari ST seems to be the main platform being discussed here, I started to read up on the STs and became interested. Over the last year I have managed take ownership of a few ST:s and lately also an STE but due to that pesky day job and other things in life it is only in the last few weeks I have had the opportunity to seriously get into the ST thing.

and congratulations on getting it all working. I have a few C128s myself, they are a very underrated computer.
