There is no special thing to do to use Tyrian: simply copy the given directory into the game folder.
But what about other games like Doom?

I've not got Doom yet. DOTT works but with ST audio, not got the Picogus working yet.
If it ain't broke, test it to Destruction.

Yes Doom works fine on the ET4000, not tried Mach32 yet. No sound yet but I bet that's using midi?

Okay, will give that a try in the morning.

So it's sounding like my graphics cards are the issue then.

This is just a wild guess, maybe it’s related to adlib sound?
Perhaps my card detect/init code is dogy and stuff goes south if no such card is present. Or something is not playing well with the picogus (you mentioned you don’t have it up and running yet)

Does doom work at all if you start it with -adlib ?
(Should make it take that codepath instead of midi)

ScummST plays music through midi, but @luciodra ’s suggestion to try oplmidi.prg sound like a good idea to get one more thing testing it.

I do believe I've fixed my Tyrian problem :D

I had to refresh the Picogus with the latest software and then configure it

Using PGUSINIT /mode sb set it to soundblaster mode and now Tyrian loads.

Thanks for your help guys.

When you run pgusinit /mode sb
and then pgusinit /save, does it return error messages at the end? :?:

Yes it says that I've not set the sound blaster variables and doesn't save.
