I placed the order for the supervisory circuits and oddly enough it has been shipped. I'm a little peeved as that was an expensive mistake on their end, as I paid another $40 in shipping fees. Oh well.

RTC seems to be discontinued with no suitable replacement that wouldn't require a board rework or change to the drivers. That's a little beyond the scope of what I can do. Element 14 claims to have the RTC in stock, but with another eye watering shipping charge of $40

I'll get there in the end I hope.

Yooo! It's starting to look like a computer!

What do I need to program CPLD U108? I have an ALL-07A burner but I don't have the adapter for that package (I did get a spare socket so I could bodge one up) I have a XILINX JTAG platform cable but not sure if it is software locked to XILINX only.

I'm a long way off that stage yet, just wondering if I need to place an order for a programmer

Can anyone recommend a power on test that can be run without CPU? I'm too worried that if I have made a mistake I will fry my very hard to find processor.

At the moment I think only the oscilloscope can help you, while for the programming of the ATF1548 I purchased the ATDH1150USB. I think that to keep up with the various updates this gadget will help you.

I have not yet said it, but I really want it to look good. I can buy an Intel computer with a 4090 for about the same price as what this is costing, but there is something so special about making it yourself!

It's going to be a big journey though!

Thanks, that's very kind of you! I'm going to mess around with trying to get the All-07a to write it. If I fry the CPLD, I'll get the next one shipped to you. That could be a great help. I appreciate it.

Hi guys. Just a bit of an update and a question.

So I'm making great progress. I also have all the CPLDs flashed. I can confirm (tentatively, I haven't attempted a boot yet) that the off the shelf Xilinix (Digilent) Programmer works for JTAG flashing Nessi using openocd, which might be helpful since, anyone who has a DFB or CT60 likely already has one of these programmers.

I've gotten myself in a quite of a state with the Left/Right polarisation of the SIMM sockets and I'm not sure if I have stuffed in the right ones. Do your spring clips face North (toward CPU) or South (toward ISA bus) - On mine, the spring clips face North but the chips face South as they should.

Does it make any difference as long as the SIMM card is oriented correctly?

@sety there are two holes, one on each end of the Simms sockets, they are different sizes, so supposedly the sockets can only go in one way round

If I understand correctly, and seeing the photos of your Raven, I would say that the sockets are mounted backwards.
