@mrbombermillzy I don't mind them needing work as such, that's part of the fun. The PS1 cost me a tenner but doesn't read disks.

If you spot an original PS3 then give me a shout. I owned one back in the day but the ex wife took it.

I reckon you'll find a good PS3 and all it'll need are Tokin replacements, I've had a couple of cheap ones from ebay, pretty good consoles.
Collector of many retro things!

Plus the rest, totalling around 50 machines including a QL, 3x BBC Model B, Electron, Spectrums, ZX81 etc...

You know what Phil, I have one of the fat original PS3 consoles that seems to be just starting to overheat and lock up.

Ive taken it out of action now, as I didnt want to fry it and was going to blast out the dust and re-paste.

Im happy to put that on our 'deal list', if you are good to wait for CL, or I can perhaps post it if you want it ASAP?

Its a bit late to be banging around the house tonight, but I will get you the exact model number tomorrow (its the one with the built in backward compatibility chip, rather than SW emulation the later ones had).

Yeah, big rectangular multi-layered fellas.

I replaced some on my PS3 that had a YLOD. They fall apart when you heat them, but you can just install tantalums and it'll work just fine, I got a kit to do mine. Probably impossible to install Tokins yourself, but fitting alternatives is easy. I fitted individual tantalums but you can get a thing called The Tanatalizer" which is a PCB that drops in directly in place of a Tokin.

Have a look here: Tokins

Just a very quick update for today. The new PS2 to HDMI adapter arrived and the good news is the PS2;works great so far.

Yesterday I ended up giving it a clean inside as well, so we will see how it goes. so far the fan is a little noisy but that's normal for a PS2, so I'll see about sourcing a quieter replacement.

Just got to wait for the PS1 to arrive next.

Bit of Need for Speed anyone?

Yeah I used to play that back in the day. This is the only disk I've got at the moment though

Burnout is one of my favourite games, a pure reflex tester - excellent fun :)
