I don't have a Z88 (I nearly did but that's another story) but I do have an Epson HX-20.

It's not. I thought I had bad RAM and replaced one, but didn't help. I'm going to get back to it soon and need to break out the scope, but I do wonder if it's a power issue.

Very much so. It's actually a dual CPU machine and runs off battery, with power only for charging the battery. Basically if you remove the battery you can't run it off the charger.

Whats annoying is it worked fine, then one day just stopped :(
