You have to get a PGA 206 socket, such as this one:

Thanks! Ordered! I could not find that anywhere in Aus. Not even RS had it.
As I am local to Aus and have built 2 so far, happy to help if you need someone local. :)

tysm! tbh I wasn't expecting this build to cost any less than a modern 4090 gaming rig, given Australia's "postage paywall" but the fact that another Australian has built not one but two, is pure motivation.

I'm very excited to start this build. There is something so cool about building a homebrew 32 bit computer!

I'll be in touch! Were you able to fill any of the BOM from Altronics/Jaycar?

Most of the BOM for me was obtained through Mouser with ISA sockets from Aliexpress. The PGA-206 sockets I got from the site the others used.

The goodies are starting to arrive.

I got a stencil too! I normally cut my own out of mylar (or even shiny craft material) because I don't like doing tiny caps and resistors (They stick to the iron!) but the cost has come down so I'm like "Why not?" It's a very nice stencil. Much better than what I can do with a CO2 cutter.

Hi All,

Apologies if this has already been asked, the Raven thread is long and I don't know how to search for this.

Would the ET4000 remake by Alexandru Groza work in the Raven? I'm having a hard time finding an ISA ET4000 locally and it might make more sense for me spend the money building a new one rather than having to stomach dropping $300AUD on a 30 year old card from eBay.

thanks :)

There is a NOVA driver for the TSENG ET4000/W32i but it support only 1MB Video Ram.

@agranlund can say more to it ...
